David Smith
Managing Director
David has been with Ashleigh since our inception in 2001 and has played a key role in the intervening years. He has overall responsibility for the strategic direction the company takes. He provides guidance and support to the Board of Directors and Senior Management team to maintain and develop successful business operations. In addition to his role at Ashleigh, David is also Chairman of Ayr United Football Club. David is based at our Prestwick Office.
Euan Clark
Commercial Director
Euan joined Ashleigh in 2003 and manages our Commercial and Pre-Construction departments, providing key Director involvement during both the development and construction phases of all projects. Euan also acts as our Framework Director, providing overarching guidance and support to our clients and design teams. As well as his Director role at Ashleigh, Euan is the President of the Scottish Building Federation and a member of the Contractor's Legal Group on the JCT Contracts Council. Euan is based at our Prestwick Office.
David Roan
Area Director
David has been with Ashleigh since 2003 and is responsible for our construction activities within the Dumfries and Galloway area. He manages our site teams, subcontractors, and the allocation of resources whilst ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. Alongside his role at Ashleigh, David is a Board Member of the Dumfries DYW and is the Chairman of the Dumfries and Galloway Construction Training Group. David is based at our Dumfries Office.
Colin Pyke
Area Director
Colin Joined Ashleigh in 2006 and is responsible for our construction activities within Ayrshire and the Central Belt. He manages our site teams, subcontractors, and the allocation of resources whilst ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. He boasts strong relationships with local colleges in the creation of initiatives like our work experience programme. Colin is based at our Prestwick Office.
Iain Forbes
Financial Director
Iain has managed the company’s Accounts department since joining in 2018. He ensures the efficient running of Ashleigh’s accounts and management of the finance team. Iain is also responsible for paying subcontractors and employees accordingly and on time. Alongside his Ashleigh role, Iain is a Director at the Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce. Iain is based at our Prestwick Office.
John McLeish
Surveying Director
John joined Ashleigh in 2007 and now manages the Surveying department in all commercial aspects related to the construction phase of our projects. His role of ensuring accurate monitoring of cost and budgets, managing supply chain resources, and collaborating with other teams assists the successful delivery of projects. In addition to John's role at Ashleigh, he is also a member of the DYW Finance, Strategy and Planning Group. John is based at our Prestwick Office.
Les Shearer
Technical Manager
Les, having been with Ashleigh since 2001, now oversees all project’s pre-development phase, managing design elements, planning trackers and project risks, ensuring a seamless transition from development to construction. Les leads design team meetings and workshops ensuring all project stakeholders are well informed. Les is based at our Dumfries Office.
Katrina Wilson
Financial Administrator
Katrina has been with Ashleigh since 2018 and supports the Financial Director with the management of the company accounts. She also assists the Financial Director with the paying of employees and subcontractors, accordingly and on time. Katrina is based at our Dumfries Office.
Ricky Welsh
Customer Care Manager
Ricky joined Ashleigh 18 years ago and coordinates and manages our Customer Care department. Ricky visits our projects in their defect’s liability period, liaising closely with tenants, housing officers, clients, and their clerk of works to resolve defects within pre-agreed timescales. Ricky is based at our Prestwick Office.
Stevie McDonald
Estimating Coordinator
Stevie supports our estimating and technical departments through the effective coordination of administrative support across a variety of areas. Some of Stevie’s responsibilities include the review and maintenance of relevant project files and providing subcontractors with important project information. Stevie is based at our Dumfries Office.
Paul Young
Health and Safety Manager
Paul is responsible for the health and safety performance of all Ashleigh projects. He works from development through to construction, facilitating regular meetings and site visits for guidance and legislative advice. As well as his Ashleigh role, Paul is the Chairman of the Ayrshire Safety Group. Paul is based at our Prestwick Office.
Neal Hodge
Estimator
Neal joined Ashleigh in 2018 and is involved at the tender stage of projects, analysing and collecting data to estimate the time, money, materials and labour required to successfully deliver a project and prepare competitive tender submissions. Neal is based at our Prestwick Office.
Rachel Forrest
Administration Apprentice
Rachel works in our reception area in our Prestwick Office and is the first port of call for processing project defects. Rachel liaises with the relevant subcontractors and tracks and updates defects to the client to ensure adherence to agreed defect timescales. Rachel also contacts tenants to arrange for necessary works to take place.
Gordon McRae
Senior Quantity Surveyor
After joining Ashleigh 15 years ago, Gordon, now a Senior QS, takes on a supervisory role of the Surveying department. He liaises closely with our Project Managers and Area Directors to keep projects within Client agreed budget constraints. He supports projects from early procurement through to contract completion. He works predominantly on our housing projects. Gordon is based at our Prestwick Office.
Craig Devlin
Senior Quantity Surveyor
Craig has been with Ashleigh for 8 years. As Senior QS, Craig takes on a supervisory role of the Surveying department. He liaises closely with our Project Managers and Area Directors to keep projects within Client agreed budget constraints. He supports projects from early procurement through to contract completion. Danny Wilson
Senior Estimator
Danny joined Ashleigh 8 years ago and now oversees our Estimating department across both our offices. He is involved at the tender stage of projects, analysing and collecting data to estimate the time, money, materials and labour required to successfully deliver a project and prepare competitive tender submissions. Danny is based at our Dumfries Office.
Blayre Thomson
Quantity Surveyor
Blayre works in our commercial department, liaising closely with our Project Managers and Area Directors to keep projects within Client agreed budget constraints. He supports projects from early procurement through to contract completion. He works predominantly on our commercial and refurbishment projects. Blayre is based at our Prestwick Office.
Les Cottle
Planning Manager
Les has been with Ashleigh since 2006. He is responsible for the creation of all tender, pre-development and construction programmes which include, build strategy and sequencing. His programmes are tracked and updated in close liaison with the Project Managers and Area Directors. Les is based at our Prestwick Office.
Findlay Williamson
Trainee Quantity Surveyor
Findlay assists the commercial department in carrying out quantity surveying duties including, processing calculation payments, and agreeing final accounts to ensure the successful delivery of our development programmes. Findlay is based at our Prestwick Office
Andy Stevenson
H&S Advisor
Andy's primary responsibility is to offer comprehensive health and safety guidance and assistance across all departments within the company. He conducts thorough site inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, actively collaborating with managers and contractors to establish and maintain a secure working environment for all our projects. Andy is based at our Prestwick office.
Louise McGahan
Contract Coordinator
Louise is responsible for providing administrative support to the Ashleigh project team. Her duties involve collaborating with project managers to guarantee the timely issuance of crucial documents like operations & maintenance manuals and tenant guides. She is also tasked with compiling pre-construction information, overseeing project documentation, and handling PPE orders to enhance safety compliance across our projects. Louise is based at our Prestwick Office.
Nikki Kean
Community Coordinator / Office Manager
Nikki, our Community Coordinator, ensures that community initiatives are aligned with our project pipeline. She works with our supply chain, local chambers of commerce, third sector organisations, community groups, and schools to organise events, workshops, STEM activities, work experience programs, and mock interview training. Nikki secures funding from Ashleigh to assist local community groups and oversees the monthly Community Benefit report shared with our board and clients. Additionally, she offers essential administrative and operational support for the business. Nikki is based in our Prestwick office.
Lee Currie
Bid Manager
Lee works closely with the Commercial Team to plan, develop and submit a variety of commercial/sales documents, including tender responses, proposals, and quotes. Responsible for managing the day-to-day aspects of the bid development process, ensuring compliance of all tender responses and maintenance of the bid library containing reusable content and templates. Ensures that all client’s requirements are understood and incorporated into high-quality, professionally written proposals articulating well Ashleigh’s value proposition and services. Lee is based in our Prestwick office.
